The doctor listened to my concern and plainly laid out all the practicalities of what my options were and what would be best going forward. He also text me a number of helpful links to do with the best course of action. This was all also late in the date on Christmas Eve

Very impressed by Dr Vijay's approach to my health concerns. He was thorough and meticulous in testing/exploring and listening to my concerns. He spoke in Plain English when explaining possible root causes of the condition, medication how they would work and why they were needed. He developed a plan of action with variables to follow to diagnose and treat my concerns, which I found helpful. I felt assured of his practice and that medically he was abreast of the current changes/developments related to the health condition, new approaches and medication on the market. He also knew the local area and additional services available. He is one of a few GPs I met who I feel enjoys their profession and demonstrates accountability, compassion and empathy when interacting with patients. He covers the bases to ensure successful outcome, for example- clear notes/instruction on xray referral regarding action of treatment and what they need to do afterwards, notes on medication as a reminder when to take medication and calling me to follow through/alert me of a situation that was not previously discussed, admirable qualities in a doctor. Only slight criticism, he moves/practices at a pace that is speedy, for me this was fine, for others it might be overwhelming. However this is against having a 10 min appointment which isnt a huge amount of time when you have a few issues going on. Really like this quality questionnaire to appraising service delivery to patients.

I agree with you about pace which is exactly for the reason you mentioned, namely trying to squeeze as much as possible into a 10 minute consultation. Yet I still often run late in surgeries. I do try to check if the patient is keeping up with my explanation/actions and slow down the pace as necessary, but I agree this is not ideal and longer lengths of appointments would help. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a comprehensive review. - it is much appreciated.
